Ohio State Career Training Center (OSCTC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization dedicated to promoting, restoring, and improving community health awareness and physical well-being through education and training. We address health education and awareness both locally and at a broader level, encouraging a holistic approach to human health in order to live a more fully embodied life.
At present, the Ohio State Career Training Center provides classroom instruction at its Dayton campus, catering to potential students in the Greater Dayton area and beyond. Our reach extends to Bellbrook, Centerville, Clayton, Englewood, Fairborn, Germantown, Kettering, Miamisburg, Middletown, Moraine, Oakwood, Piqua, Riverside, Springfield, Tipp City, Trotwood, Vandalia, West Carrollton, and Xenia, attracting students from these regions. OSCTC offers Nursing Assistant (CNA/STNA) Training that meet the education standards for nursing assistants as required by the Ohio Department of Health. Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates will obtain CNA Certificates and be qualified to take the State Nurse Aide (STNA) examination.
OSCTC's 75-clock hour CNA/STNA Training Program will cover body mechanics, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, human disease processes, infection control, communication skills, and resident rights. Students will master various personal care skills such as how to help patients bathe, eat, and groom themselves and prepare themselves for the knowledge and skills portion of the CNA state test.
OSCTC's 30-hour online home care aide/personal care aide training program prepares students to perform the basic skills necessary to provide personal care services and activities to elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons in the home of patients or in a residential care facility. Students will be able to demonstrate basic nursing care and the skills required to promote health and healing for patient, as well as performing basic homemaker duties.
This 5-day course will cover topics including: activities of daily living, communication and administration, basic home safety, infection control, and other core areas of competency.
The Phlebotomy Technician program will present an in-depth study of topics such as anatomy & physiology of the cardiovascular system, the coagulation process, ABGs, infectious disease and biohazards, universal precaution & infection control, and equipment and additives. Students will also learn to perform various techniques and methods like butterfly venipuncture, capillary puncture, vacutainer, and taking blood culture.
Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates will receive a certificate and be eligible to take the National Certification Examination offered by National Healthcareer Association.
